This website is based on the personal experiences of Coralie Clement (nee Wigg) who attended Ravens Croft from 1955 until 1962. Photos of events and pupils were mainly provided by Coralie. About Ravens Croft

Ravens Croft School was located on the sea front in Eastbourne, East Sussex, England and accepted both boarding and day girls. Many young ladies between the ages of 10 to 17 years from all over the world were educated at the school until the early sixties when it became uneconomic to run. The school was then demolished and a housing estate built on the site. Nothing now remains of the building but the perimeter wall is still there.

At the time of closure, the Headmistress was Miss Nora Roberts (Bobbie) who died in 1975.

This website is a collection of mainly in the form of photos memories by several ex-Ravens who where at the school between the early fifties until it closed. In the fifties, the school had about 200 pupils and 12 staff. Sadly the numbers began to drop until just before closure, approximately 80 pupils remained.

Reunion of October 2002

A reunion of many people who had attended the school was held on the 5th October 2002 at the Hydro Hotel, Eastbourne in the Garden Suite Photographs of the event can be viewed by clicking Reunion

A special edition of school magazine 'The Raven' was produced for the day and included many articles submitted by ex-Ravens about their experiences at the school. Each person who attended the Reunion was given a copy of the magazine. Additional copies are available for the sum of £5. For further information, contact the organisers:

Ruby Reunion - Saturday, 8 October 2005

What a lovely day we all had at our Ruby Reunion. Thanks go to Jo, Sue and team for such a successful day. There were many new faces there that had not been at the first reunion--plenty of chatter with so much to catch up on after 40 years.
